COSMIC ACTION
The power of action of the Enlightened Person is identical with the evolutionary force that directs the growth of the entire universe. Is such a force possible in a human being? How can an individual harness the power of the whole of nature, which directs the progress of planets and galaxies, and use it in his or her daily life?
Look at Nature: no one sees the force of evolution, but everything is evolving. A tree grows but no one can see the power of life in the sap. The ocean lifts giant tides, but the force that accomplishes this, incalculably enormous, remains totally silent and invisible. No one would suspect that enough energy is running through a simple electrical wire to put dozens of machines and devices into action. In the same way, whoever has his or her awareness anchored in the transcendental reality of life, unbounded awareness, will automatically enjoy the full support of total natural law in each of his or her thoughts and actions.
Consider this: the reason that the total power of all the laws of nature remains invisible in cosmic life is that its energy comes from and reaches to the furthest horizons of time and space. If you sail on the open sea, you do not appreciate the rise of the tide. Why? Because its movements are hidden by the total expanse of the sea. But if you stand on the shore, you can follow the rise of the water and see the power of the tides. Marvellously, and so silently, the Enlightened Consciousness encompasses in itself the total dynamic movements of creation but, as that total power belongs to omnipresent nature, it reaches every shore of universal existence and remains invisible to the eye. The thoughts and actions of the Enlightened Person, from moment to moment, advance on a highway as wide as the universe itself. That is why no one can evaluate the words and actions of the wise from a narrow perspective; it’s necessary to consider the totality of the infinite reality of life.
For the Enlightened only, each thought, word and action has a cosmic origin and expresses the silent power of nature, because they are rooted in the transcendental awareness of totality. For them, each thought springs from the web of cosmic Intelligence where everything is unified. Infinity permeates each minute point of their activity. We could say that the personality of the Enlightened is like a wave that contains infinitely more water than its physical dimensions actually allow. Such is the expression of the cosmic life of the Enlightened Individual that they spontaneously maintain in their awareness the total power of cosmic evolution in the midst of any waves, big or small, of their actions on the surface of the ocean of life.
In Maharishi’s words, “Life is as one sees life to be.” Everything depends on the state of consciousness of the individual. The Enlightened live their life in bliss, and that is the proof of their inner freedom. The field of all possibilities of the universe is lively in them because “They are That.”
